Nascar: The Neighborhood Excellence 400

The Neighborhood Excellence 400 is the first of two Nascar Nextel Cup stock races which is currently held at the Dover International Speedway located in Dover Delaware. The race is usually developed in June and is hosted by the Bank of America.

The first race of the Neighborhood Excellence 400 was in 1969, and its distance was 300 miles (483 km), with 400 laps. During its early days, the event had a different name which was Mason-Dixon 300.

This race will start on June 2nd, 2006 and is one of the several categories Nascar Car Racing has. Is good to mention that Nascar (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing) is the biggest sanctioning body of motor sports in the United States.

There are three largest series approved by Nascar which are the Nextel Cup, the Bush Series and the Craftsman Truck Series.

Actually, Nascar sanctions over 1.500 races over 100 different tracks in 38 different states, Canada and Mexico, and is the second most popular professional sport on T.V ratings in the US.
