The Cowboys' Head Coach who has been with the team for the last four years officially announced his resignation Monday morning. The decision was taken a couple of weeks after the Cowboys' season ended with a heartbreaking playoff loss in Seattle. Parcells leaves the Cowboys with the ninth most wins in NFL history and a career record of 183-138-1. He was 34-32 in Dallas, including 0-2 in the post-season. Coach Parcells led the Cowboys to two playoff appearances, even though losing in the first round in 2003 and during this past season. Parcells' teams were just 34-30 in his four years, but that was still quite an advance from the 15-33 record his predecessor, Dave Campo, achieved in the three years prior to Parcells' entrance as the Head Coach. Parcells had still one extra year left with more than $5 million on a contract extension signed last January, but he had made up his mind and the decision was final.
