Cruiser bicycles have always been the most popular amongst all the various kinds of bicycles available on the market. These bicycles are not built for rough terrain like mountain bikes but for proper streets. The emphasis is much more on looks and convenience than on performance. But this is what the general public mostly goes for. After all not many from the general public are going to go for long distance mountain biking or speed racing.

Most of the time, the seats are of saddle design which is well padded for the comfort of the rider. Most of these bicycles come fitted with shock absorbers which have become sort of a necessity nowadays. And most bicycles have more than one shock absorber- there is one usually beneath the seat and another on the wheel. This makes riding the bicycle much more comfortable as hard impacts with the ground and with foreign objects are diminished to a great degree.
